Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 3 October 2026

About these terms

These terms apply to the removals, man and van and furniture delivery services provided by Sokhov Transport & Removals (“we”, “us”), based in Ledbury, Herefordshire, and to your use of this website. By requesting a quote or booking with us, you agree to them. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Quotes and bookings

A quote is based on the information you give us: the items, the addresses, the access and the date. Please describe the job as accurately as you can. A booking is confirmed when we agree the date and price with you in writing (for example by email or WhatsApp). The validity period of a quote is stated in the quote.

If the job on the day is different from what you described, such as more items, longer carrying distances, extra stairs or restricted parking, the price may change. We will tell you before we go ahead with any extra work.

Price and payment

The price, what it includes and how and when to pay will be set out in your quote or booking confirmation. Any extra charges, such as parking fees or permits, will be explained before they are added.

Your right to cancel

If you are a consumer and book with us by phone, WhatsApp, email or through the website, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of the day the booking is confirmed, without giving a reason. To cancel, tell us clearly by phone, email or message.

If your move is due to take place within those 14 days and you ask us to start earlier, you will pay for the services we have already provided up to the point you tell us you are cancelling, in proportion to the full price.

Changing or cancelling later

Please give us as much notice as possible if you need to change the date or cancel after the 14-day period. We may charge a reasonable amount for costs we cannot avoid, such as a day we have held for you and cannot fill. Any such charge will be explained in your quote and will reflect our actual loss.

Access and parking

You are responsible for telling us about stairs, lifts, narrow access, long carrying distances and parking restrictions at both addresses when you book, and for arranging any parking permits or suspensions needed. Extra time caused by access issues that were not mentioned may be charged.

On the day

Please make sure items are ready to be moved and that someone is available at both addresses at the agreed time. Appliances should be disconnected, drained and defrosted before we arrive. We can dismantle and assemble furniture where agreed in the booking, but we do not disconnect gas, electrical or plumbing connections. Please let us know in advance about anything very heavy, fragile or awkward to move.

Items we cannot carry

For safety and legal reasons we cannot carry:

Please carry cash, jewellery, important documents, medication and other valuables with you. If you have a very valuable item you would like us to move, tell us when you book so we can discuss it first.

Our responsibility for your belongings

We will take reasonable care of your belongings and carry out the service with reasonable skill. We are responsible for loss of or damage to your belongings caused by our negligence or by our breach of these terms. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited by law.

We are not responsible for damage that was already there, for normal wear on items that are not properly packed or are not suitable to be moved, for loss of or damage to items we were not told about, or for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable. Details of any insurance cover for your move are available on request.

Reporting damage or loss

Please tell us about any damage or loss as soon as you can, ideally on the day of the move, and send photos where possible so we can look into it quickly. Prompt reports help us resolve claims fairly.

Delays and things outside our control

We will do our best to arrive on time and finish the job as agreed. We are not responsible for delays or failure to carry out the service caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, road closures, accidents, vehicle breakdown or illness. If that happens we will contact you as soon as we can and offer a new date or a refund of anything you have paid for services we could not provide.

Complaints

If something is not right, please contact us as soon as possible using the details below and we will try to put it right promptly.

Website use

Quotes requested through this website are requests only and do not form a booking until we confirm them. The content of this website belongs to us or is used with permission. Please do not copy it without asking first. We try to keep the website accurate and available, but we do not guarantee it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.
